I have been watching The Secret Millionaire programme on Channel 4 since it first aired in late 2006. The idea of the programme is based on real life millionaires who want to help those in need. In order to do this they leave their own life behind for a week and go in disguise into a community. They then use this opportunity to see how they can help. They don't just hand out money. The Secret Millionaires want their money put to good use. They are looking at ways of best investing their money in a community that will help others.

The series themselves are quite short. They only have a small number episodes in each one.

Upto date there have been 21 episodes. During this time millions of pounds have been given out plus job opportunities. Although I enjoy watching the programme I honestly wonder how long this programme can go on. Over time people will be made aware of this kind of programme, and are more likely to act up in front of camera in the hope of getting some cash.

I also find these programmes act as a publicity tool for the millionaires in question. If they really wanted to help others surely they could do this in private. They don't need tv crews going around with them filming them give money away. There are many out there who give money away without courting publicity!!

Summary: One to watch if there is nothing else on!!
