Advantages: Nice to see someone helping society.
Disadvantages: Tend to be the same after a while
This programme is based on a Millionaire, usually self made, going into a town not local to them to try and find people in need of
financial help. These can range from individuals to organisations - usually charity based or based on helping members of the community.
It is very much a feel good tv programme.
You follow the millionaire from their luxury home to the none luxury home they are about to live in - usually in the worst part of the
area.
They then have to, with the cameras following them, go volunteering to try and find people to help. They have no contact with
there families or to their bank accounts. They have to live off what benefits etc they would be entitled to.
It is really interesting watching these people taking on another life and making out to people that they are in the same financial
boat (if not worse) than most of us.
It always melts my heart to see these people realise how much they have and how little others have and to see them struggling
with it all.
They meet so many people on their journey and make so many friends. When the time comes to decide who to help financially they
really struggle - I suppose they feel guilty that they cannot give to everyone.
When the time comes to tell people who they really are and hand them over a cheque it is always emotional for those concerned. One
thing that always strikes me though is why does noone cotton on. It is the same set up everytime but yet everyone always seems
surprised.
All in all a great programme to watch although it can get tedious after a while as it is always the 'same'.
Summary: Interesting to see how people view others.
