Ah The Shield, copious seasons and filled with quality! Mac (the main character) is on the one hand a vile, despicable, dirty cop, who runs a protection racket for the local drug dealers in LA and then goes home to his wife and kids to play happy families. With him are his cronies the 'strike team' who basically go around busting drug dens of the competition whenever they feel like, guns for hire almost.

The series revolves around there goings on, and their clashes with the more respectable cops in the precinct 'The Farm' or Famington. Each episode has individual case storylines but it stands out from the rest as it has worthwhile long running storylines intertwined for whole seasons and some even spanning seasons. This is what makes it stand out from the crowd of average police dramas (CSI, NCIS etc) as you can really get involved with the characters as each one develops!

Summary: Well worth a watch..
