Newest Review: ... middle class family consisting of Homer & Marge who are married & their three children Bart, Lisa & Maggie. They also have two pets. A cat named Snowball & a dog called Santa's Little Helper who becomes a member of the family in an early episode. The family are quite dysfuntional. They don't always get along. In some ways they don't suit each other. Bart can be depicted as stupid, but watching lots of shows that he is smarter than he is often given credit for. He just doesn't try at school. Lisa is very smart & does very well at school in comparison to Bart. Homer works full time at the local Nucleur Power Plant, but is ... more

Ah yes, The Simpsons. The backbone of animated comedy. The world-famous, world-renowned, and the world-loved animated sitcom about the family from Springfield in the good old US of A. Created by Matt Groening, it's gone from a small, badly drawn sketch on the Tracy Allman show to quite simply the biggest animated programme the world has ever seen. Based around the family called the Simpson who live on Evergreen Terrace, they consist of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. Along with their pets, family and friends within the close-knit community of Springfield, the copious number of storylines they've accumulated over the years heaps praise on it's own, let ...  Read the complete review

There was a time, not so long ago, when the Simpsons was the best thing on TV, hands down. With great storylines, deep, well-rounded and immensely likable characters and intelligent and hilarious writing it was a programme that worked on multiple levels and was mandatory viewing for the young and old alike. Nothing lasts forever though, and all programmes have a shelf life, and the Simpsons has been stinking rather badly for a good while now. So what has changed? Well for one thing the plots are now all so surreal and over the top as to be utterly meaningless and unengaging and whereas an episode used to keep me gripped from start to finish, nowadays I find ...  Read the complete review
