The Smurfs

Newest Review: ... TV series in 1976. By 1977, The Smurf song had hit the top of the charts, and The Smurfs were well and truly in our lives. The Smurfs lived in a forest, and were led by Papa Smurf, who wore a red hat to indicate his seniority. They were roughly three apples high (!) and were hunted by the evil wizard Gargamel and his cat Azrael. The squeaky voiced Smurfs were constantly be on the run from the pair's trickery, as Papa Smurf, Brainy Smurf, Smurfette, Greedy Smurf and co survived from day to day, seemingly in ignorant bliss until Gargamel appeared with another of his dastardly plots! I highly enjoyed the Smurfs. If they are shown today, I co... more

The Smurfs was a magical cartoon that first aired in the 1970s and featured small blue people with white hats as they went about their adventures, introducing us to the different characters and giving us a number of wonderful episodes. The Smurfs were first created in the 1950s by a Belgian cartoonist. It was spotted by and American who bought the rights and launched the TV series in 1976. What ever happened to the little blue men.Oh and woman, (smurfette). I watched this once I got home from school and loved it.I remember that they did start putting it back on our screens, but it did not last long, and was gone again. The head of the bunch papa smurf would always give the others chores to do and this would always lead trouble for them and would usually bump into Gargamel. The smurfs first appeared in Belgian in 1958 believe it or not.In 1976, Stuart R. The women dancers were the programmes resident troupe 'Legs & Co' and the song they were dancing to was the UK Number 1 hit 'The Smurf song' as performed by Father Abraham and the Smurfs. So who are The Smurfs and where did they come from? A brief background ------------------------ The Smurfs were the creation of Pierre Culiford, aka Peyo. Peyo was a successful Belgian Cartoon ...  Read the complete review

The smurf's is one of the oldest and most loved shows, by many, not all but many. It provides people a relief from normality, the way the Smurfs all work together as a team is really good and puts across a great message to the little kids who watch it. Popa Smurf is a role model for many as he is well respected, intelligent, and always has the solution to any problems that the Smurfs may come across. The Smurfs has the making of a great show, it has everything, a variety of characters, Brainy, Sleepy, musical smurf, a leader, a female and most importantly they have a bad guy. (Oh and his cat). Gargamel, is constantly trying the eat the Smurfs, NO WE ...  Read the complete review

Father abraham, rarely appears but hes the creator of the little blue smurfs who are still cult figures everywhere. A cartoon that even has its own cds released regularly and boy do the kids love them. Every word is connected to smurfing and the smurfs. Its a hard programme to explain about because everything is done in smurf style, little blue creatures that live in the forest in fear of been discovered whilst living their happy lives. A kind of snow white without snow white and just loads of blue dwarfs. Watch it and youll see what i mean, i bet you enjoy it. ...  Read the complete review
