The Unit ia an American TV series that is based on Eric Haney's book 'Inside Delta Force: The Story Of America's Elite Counterterrorist Unit' and focuses on the small, top-secret team of soldiers who make up 'The Unit'.
Officially named the '303rd Logistical Studies Group' as cover, 'The Unit' is an elite group of soldiers who are depoloyed around the world to primarily deal with counterterrorism. The Unit members are highly trained soldiers but, due to the nature of their work, have to tell any one outside the unit that they are clerks.
The series show sthe impact that the missions have on not just the soldiers, but their friends and families. The unit wives form a close-nit community are are often seen helping each other in times of need.
The main cast members are as follows:
Dennis Haysbert as Jonas Blane
Scott Foley as Bob Brown
Max Martini as Mack Gerhardt
Robert Patrick as Thomas Ryan
Michael Irby as Charles Grey
Demore Barnes as Hector Williams
I thoroughly enjoy watching 'The Unit'. I am just about to start watching the third season (season four is being broadcast at the time of writing this review). I'm hooked. The friendships between the Unit members and their wives is interesting to watch, and sometimes comical, especially as some relationships turn sour. The action scenes in this are very realistic and, I imagine, would give you a very good impression of what combat can be like.
Summary: If you like action shows, this is for you.
