Advantages: Exhiliarating show
Disadvantages: Where Will It End?
Im a big fan of American shows and recently found the Unit, absolutely brilliant. It is shown on Bravo and Virgin channel. Each episode is an hour long.
It is based around a specialist American military team who are used for dangerous missions by the American army, mostly counterterrorism. They maintain a cover of the '303rd Logistical Studies Group' based at Fort Griffith. The team is run by Colonel Tom Ryan from base.
The show looks at the missions the team carries out and the wives left behind. The wives form a close knit group believing 'a distracted solidier is a dead solidier' all problems they solve amongst themselves in the best way possible without involving their husbands, usually led by Molly Blane. Mollys husband Jonas leads the specialist team.
There are currently 4 series running. Main cast include
Dennis Haybert - Jonas Blane
Regina Taylor - Molly Blane
Audrey Marie Anderso - Kim Brown
Robert Patrick - Colonel Tom Ryan
Max Martini - Mack Gerharat
This is a very entertaining show, can be watched from late teens upwards as it can be very violent at times. I(21) enjoy watching watching this and so does my mother (50's). You do not need to watch the series in order although this helps, as each episode is based on a new mission but the wives stories run throughout affairs, pregnancies.
The writing of this show is absolutely brillant, I think the wives make the show as their worry is so believable. You can see it in their faces, that at any moment they could get a knock at the door and have to leave the base within days. Then I realise its just a show but it is filmed like a documentary that it is so realistic.
Summary: Based around a specialist military team.
