The Unit is definitely worth a watch (The Unit)

The Unit was recommended to me because I am a fan of 24 and it's thought to be quite similar. I was initially sceptical, because it appeared to be "just another men's fighting/war show", but I couldn't have been more wrong!

The Unit was originally aired in 2006 and has continued for four seasons before being confirmed as cancelled earlier this year (2009). You'll find that re-run episodes are shown regularly on a number of channels including Bravo, Virgin and Five US.

"The Unit" is in fact a special, top secret military division inside Delta Force and the series follows one Unit team, their missions and their families back at base. I think the fact that the series also follows their home life back at base is what makes the show appeal to a wider audience than the likes of 24 - it's not just about fighting and shooting guns! The wives of the Unit men are equally important cast members and their storylines are equally engaging. Having said that, the actual missions are always fascinating and thrilling and it's amazing to watch these Unit soldiers seemingly able to always be one step ahead of the enemy!

If you're a fan of action adventure shows, you should definitely give the Unit a try! There is less intense violence than the likes of 24, but the depth and thrill of the story lines more than makes up for it.

Summary: The Unit is another excellent action adventure series from the US.
