Advantages: A great story line and very captivating

Disadvantages: May be too Gory for some people.

I started watching The Vampire Diaries right from the very first episode, whilst I was at University. I was captivated so much that I bought the first series to watch again, this time with my family, they were a bit unsure about whether they would like it as they did not think it was their sort of film, however after the first episode they were intrigued to find out more.

The Vampire Diaries: A Short Description

The Vampire Diaries is based on the book series which is written by L.J Smith. The main story line is about a girl named Elena Gilbert who falls in love with a guy named Stefan who she eventually finds out that he is a vampire along with his brother Damon who is also a Vampire. I won't go into anymore detail as I feel this may spoil the story line for people who have not seen any of the series.

My Opinion:

I personally love the Vampire Diaries, however I prefer to wait until the DVDs come out as I find that because it's so captivating it is nice to watch an episode a night rather than to wait once a week. I found that one night my family and I were so engaged in the episodes that we ended up watching 6 in one evening! The DVD also contains some cut material that does not appear on TV, for reasons that it is too gory. For those who have seen the well-known Twilight films, Vampire Diaries is much more gory and action-filled than Twilight, however it is less gory than the 'True Blood' series.

Overall the Vampire Diaries series are captivating, romantic, action-packed and often has you sat on the edge of your chair!

Summary: I would definitely recommend the Vampire Diaries
