Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Humiliating and puts young people on the wrong path
I worry about the message that young people are receiving from this show. This show humiliates hundreds of people. I believe in positive thinking but some people are unrealistic. If your dream is to sing you can try for fame. If fame doesn't materialise then join a local singing group.
What most of these people want is an easy way to make money. If there wasn't big money to be made would it still be their dream.
This talent show has contestants from every corner of the UK and is judged by the famous Simon Cowel, Louis Walsh, Danni Minogue, Cheryl Cole and the public phone in vote.
The winining contestant receives a million pounds recording contract.
The celebrities in the show are making a good living out of this show and have a good laugh at lots of the contestants.
Simon Cowel is very direct and comes across cruel but maybe the contestants need that reality check.
I do worry about how some of these people cope after being humiliated on television and wouldn't be surprised if it made some of them ill.
My advice to young people is to try and do something you enjoy and receive an education in it. The way forward is working towards a realistic goal. Don't waste years on trying to become famous.
Once people become famous they seem to spend most of their time avoiding the public. A lot of their money goes on security which we don't need.
Enjoy the freindships and people you have around you knowing they are with you because they want to be not because you have pots of cash.
Summary: Don't waste your time on this show build your own life
