Advantages: Good viewing, even the kids have their favourites, good judges and good entertainment

Disadvantages: If you're favourite act gets booted then maybe not as fun to watch

I love this show and have seen it for the past couple of years. To start of from the beginning of the season when i knew that Sharon Osbourne had left from being the judges i was quite dissappointed for the fact that she was quite firey at times especially towards Simon Cowell. Anyway they have replaced her with Cheryl Cole and at first i didn't think she would 'fit in' but now over the past few weeks i have changed my mind. So this years judges are Louis Walsh, Danni Minogue, Cherly Cole and of course Simon Cowell.

This week we saw first of the live appearences as they are now down to the final 12 (well 11 as act got voted off). If you watch this every week from now on you'll get into it big time, with the action from the judges as well as all the remaining contestants.

It's all about these 11 people/groups who have to sing/performance a track different each week with a chosen theme, like this week it was number one hits. The contestants are split up to 4 catagories; boys, girls, over 25's and groups.
They each have a mentor and they are of course one each of the judges.

Each Saturday night they then have to perform live on stage and then be judged first by the judges then later on after the show has finished you then get a chance to phone up and vote for your favourite. They then have a further show aired later on in the evening called "The Result". This then lets you know the one act that has not made it through. But before it is totally decided the last bottom two acts in the 'stand off' have to perform another track to perform again, then it's up to the judges which one of the two acts they want to vote for and save.

Each week they do this until it reaches the final just before Christmas. At this time if you have watched all the live performances you will have your favourite on who you want to win. Last year Leon won and he was meant to be the 'dark horse' to have crept up and captured the hearts of viewers and i wonder will this be the same? Oh well you're gonna have to watch it and see.

Summary: A good Saturday evening entertainment programme to be watched
