Disadvantages: Judges bicker too much

The X Factor is Saturday night family entertainment. Contestants taking part are competing in a chance to win a million pund record deal.
The show is now in its 5th series - there was a shake up at the beginning of series 4, when the original 3 judges, Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne were joined by a 4th judge, Danni Minogue. After that series, Sharon Osbourne quit the show, and has been replaced by Girls Aloud member Cheryl Cole. Each judge is given a category, the boys, the girls, the groups and the over 25's.
Auditions begin on a tour to counties across the UK, where the contestants perform in front of the 4 judges. They are either given a yes or a no - the yes's continue on to boot camp. At boot camp, more auditions follow, and the contestants are whittled down again, and the ones that get through to the next stage then take a trip to their judges house to audition for the final spot before the live shows begin.
When the final shows begin, one contestant is kicked off the show each week, until there is just 1 act remaining. The winning act then competes for the Christmas number 1 with the winners song.
Great all round family entertainment!
