Advantages: Funny, dramatic and great entertainment all in one

Disadvantages: It can get boring if there are no decent acts involved (like last year!)

The X Factor is one of those programs that is very addictive. I just love it and can't wait for it to start every year.

It is basically a singing talent show. There are 4 judges who are Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole. The show is split into 4 different stages. The first is the auditions which has to be the funniest part. You get to see the good and down right bad audtions and some of the people there are do deluded!! The judges then have to decide whether to put them through to the next round.

The second stage is the 'Boot Camp'. The ones that got through are then whittled down to 24 acts who then go on to the 3rd stage which is going to the Judge's homes. They then find out which judge will be mentoring them and their category (the categories are girls, boys, over 25's and groups). The judges then have to decide which 3 acts they each take through to the final stage which is the live shows.

After this, each week a different act is knocked out of the competition after the public ring in to vote for them. The bottom 2 that week are involved in the final showdown and the judges have to decide which one to save.

The final of the show sees the top 3 acts fight it out to be crowned the winner.

This is a show that a lot of people will say they hate, but actually enjoy watching it all the same.

It is a great entertainment show and is complimented by 'The Xtra Factor' on ITV2.

This is a cult TV show that must be watched to be appreciated!
