Every year I watch 3 of the hundreds of reality shows out there: the X Factor is one of them. The X Factor is a reality TV show for singers, that gives the winner a million pound recording contract. I first got into the show because my wife is a singer. She has a professional view of the talent, and enjoys critiquing them! I never used to like it, but I soon found myself 'falling in love' with Simon's blunt approach.

Of course, we all enjoy seeing the rubbish singers who make a fool of themselves in the early stages. Around the country, Monday morning conversations around the country revolve around 'did you hear that guy on the X Factor who sang the Barbie Song?' etc.

When the show gets a few rounds in, to the live shows, it's all about song choice and dancing, as well as the singing. At the moment I'm a Diana fan. She's got a unique voice and a calm confidence that I like.

The one thing I don't like is the way they pretend these singers are new talent. Most of them sing for a living, whether they say it on the show or not. Think about it, they sing in front of millions of people each week, most of the time without messing up - they're not beginners!

Over the years I have struggled to understand just how the public make their decisions, and I've had my fair share of upsets, but this year Diana looks set to take the crown, and I couldn't be happier!
