Advantages: Entertaining, Funny Parts, Judges, Simon Cowell Especially..

Disadvantages: Lame 'Stories' To Get Sympathy

The X Factor is a very popular show hosted by ITV and sponsored by Dominoes Pizza. It's a competition for new popstars who get a contract when they win the show as well as a cash prize. The show begins with auditions before the contestants go to 'boot camp' and sing more. They must improve as only 32 go one step further to the judge's houses and then half of these go through to the final live shows.

The judges in the last series were Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh. The next series is starting next weekend and the auditions are to be in front of a live audience this time rather than just in front of the judges, which will be much better! It will probably seem to be like Britain's Got Talent but hopefully it will still have a different X-Factor feel to it.

You get great singers and you also get terrible ones too - both of which are shown for your entertainment. There are 4 groups of singers in the end - boys, girls, over 20s and groups. 8 of each of these go to the judge's houses before the live shows to sing their hearts out and the judges can only choose 4 to go through to the final. It's random as to which judge gets which group but they all have their favourites anyway. They then support these people throughout the show and if one of their singers wins, they like to think that they won themselves against the other judges.

It's an excellent show and really entertaining. There have been some great singers on the show and some have gone on to be successful such as Leona Lewis and many more. It's starting this weekend so I'd recommend tuning into the new series on ITV 1, and there are usually repeats on ITV 2 as well as extra shows with new content.

Thanks for reading,

Summary: An excellent show, which is really entertaining where judges search to find a new popstar
