For years This Morning has been a guilty pleasure enjoyed by those off sick from school or work, or students lazing around before afternoon lectures but it's key audience is still quite clearly stay at home mums.

People often slag off daytime TV but This Morning is a daytime magazine programme that has always been respected from its days on the Albert Docks in Liverpool when Richard & Judy presided to its current set-up in London with Phil & Holly.

As a magazine show, the subjects covered varies from day to day but generally there are some interviews with either celebrities or normal people who have an amazing story to tell, some live cooking, a review of the day's newspapers and some competition where you win a whole load of cash.

There used to always be a daily phone-in, but these seem to only happen every so often now and can be a health phone-in (with Dr Chris), an agony phone-in with Denise Roberts or some other type of phone in! They've recently also added a new kind of interactive viewing using social networking sites such as Twitter & Facebook and ask people to get in touch during the show.

Whenever I'm off work I can always waste 2 hours of my life watching This Morning without realising and I'm secretly really glad there's now a "best bits" show at the weekend so I can get my daytime TV fix!
