Newest Review: ... BIT: 1) We get to see inside a celebrity's house. This has double appeal as we get to satisfy our desire for voyeurism, but then we also get to see inside the coveted world of celebrity. In a nutshell, it's about 'just how nice a house does this celebrity have, so I can work out how much money they can make' (for me anyway). Of course, it's always 'I've thrown all my crap in that cupboard, hired a cleaner and done some decorating before you arrive', but it's still exciting to see how the other half live. THE BAD BITS: 1) Sir David Frost is as energetic and exciting as a model skeleton, and not too dissimilar in looks either: it's a sad sta... more

WHAT IS IT ABOUT: David Frost hosts this light hearted game-show where celebrity contestants must guess the famous owner of a house from a tour given on video. Contestants make probing guesses, such as "this is a film star", and the audience clap if they are correct, leading the contestants to eventually have a guess whose house it is. IS IT ANY GOOD: I could probably write 2000 words about this show, but I won't! There is one good bit, and a few bad. THE GOOD BIT: 1) We get to see inside a celebrity's house. This has double appeal as we get to satisfy our desire for voyeurism, but then we also get to see inside the coveted ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review 'Who'd Live In A House Like This?' (413 words)

Through The Keyhole is a TV show hosted by Sir David Frost, where a panel of three minor celebrities attempt to guess which celebrity's house is on show on a video tour. At the start of the programme, Frost introduces the panel and then passes over to the host of the video tour. At the start of the show's run in 1987, Lloyd Grossman was the video tour host, and became well known for his catchphrase 'Who'd Live In A House Like This?' He would give a tour of the house, pointing out key items and offering vague clues of his own, before handing it back to Frost with the same line each time: 'David, it's over to you.' Once back in the studio, Frost would ...  Read the complete review

Sir David Frost is one of the most influential political interviewers who can strike fear into the great and good on his Sunday programme. Quite what he is doing hosting this dross I do not know. The format involves Loyd Grosman meandering around an unknown celebrity's house commenting on the bits and pieces inside. This gives clues to a panel of 3 people in the studio who have to guess who the celebrity is. The identity of the celebrity is revealed to the audience and they are seen as the panel try to guess who they are. It is all very amiable. The panel make hints as to what field the celebrity may be famous in, TV sport, the stage etc and the audience ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Through the Keyhole: Lock The Keyhole! (851 words)

David Frost used to be one of the most cutting political TV journalists of his day with a series of pressing interviews with the rogues-in-suits of the day. A bit like Jeremy Paxman, but without implying that any Scottish MP’s had an addiction to whiskey... However, it all started going downhill after he was relegated into exchanging niceties with political figures over croissants and orange juice on a Sunday morning, rather than doing something a bit more meritorious. It gave the masses the big dilemma in the pre-digital age of whether to watch old fogies waxing lyrical about some twaddle on ‘Morning Worship’ or some old fogies waxing ...  Read the complete review
