Tonight With Trevor McDonaldNewest Review: ... jounalistic mind. The programme covers a wide range of subjects and recent shows have focused on the concern about mothers who drink to excess and a programme on ciminal gangs who target British citizens who have mved to live abroad. Some of the shows will have sensationalist headlines in order to capture the viewers attention, the drinking mothers story had the headline "Mummy stop drinking" which obviously conjures up a particular mental image. Last nights episode which I actually delayed going out to watch it was asking the question about whether people are paying too much council tax. It was a follow up show to one aired las... more |

Tonight with Trevor McDonald is an investigative current affairs programme on ITV. Currently it can be seen at eight o'clock on a Friday night. Trvor McDonald is a familiar face from presenting the News at Ten and he has a smooth style of delivery in front of teh camera and a keen jounalistic mind. I have often ended up watching Tonight with Trevor McDonald through laziness. I sit at the computer writing, while listening to the television in the background. I watch the News at Ten, which is followed by Tonight, and I often am too engrossed in what I am doing to reach for the remote control and turn off the TV. But recently, I have found myself stopping writing for a time and giving the television my full attention. The programme recently featured a ten-minute slot on the controversy surrounding Eminem's concert tour of Britain (covered in another of my opinions) and often features interesting items. I think one of the best editions of the ... Read the complete review

Trevor Mcdonalds Tonight show is one topical current affairs program that I will watch with avid interest. Usually I avoid them like the plague as I find them boring and repetitive. Not so with Mr Mcdonald. Tonight covers a wide variety of subjects that are currently headlining in the news. With interviewers who are both sensitive when called for but also hardhitting too. The main thing that has drawn me back to this programe is the updates that it likes to give on stories that it has featured. The recent Siamese twin story for example, by now most news shows have forgotten all about poor Mary and Jodie and thier parents. Tonight, returned to the story, ... Read the complete review

"Tonight With Trevor McDonald" Is the wrong title for this program, considering it's the presenters of the individual pieces on the program. That's my only critism of this program. That and it's not on all year round. Investigative journalism of an extreme high quality surpassed by none - I was even taken aback with Carol Vorderman's recent appearance, although to be honest, she should concentrate on programs like this instead of everything else she turns up on! Now that the beeb have religated Panorama to a Sunday evening slot, I think that program will dumb down more, leaving "Tonight" as THE current affairs program. ... Read the complete review

I personally think that 'Tonight With Trevor McDonald' is a fantastic informational show, ranking right up there with the BBC's Panorama. It always delivers stories that are of interest to me, and delves deeper than many other news programmes. An example of this is the interview with the suspected murderers of Stephen Lawrence. The interviewer confronted the thungs with tough, hard questions and even became personally invloved in the interview, asking if they hated HIM because he was 'non-white'. The graphics are great, and the overall appearence of the show is presneted in a manner that gives you confidence in the stories it ... Read the complete review
