Top Cat had an alley cat in the title role, a wise-talking streetwise cat, who led a band of stray cats as they roamed the city streets, avoiding the glaring gaze of bumbling policeman Officer Dibble. The group of cats included a wide variety of sizes and shapes, none moreso than the cute little blue cat, Benny, the simpleton of the group, whom Top Cat always had time for. Top cat used to be one of my fave programmes as a child so much so i named my kitten tc after it. Top cat or tc as he is known is the leader of a cartoon bunch of alley cats, with his side kick been a purple/blue cat called benny. They live in dustbins and get up to all sorts of antics, forever chased in classic cartoon style by officer dibble the dimwitted police officer always trying to trip tc up. A great cartoon, not filled with violence like modern kids programmes. ...

His enemy is Officer Dibble and is always catching TC upto no good using his telephone, impersonating him, stealing fish etc. Personally, I can't see what I found so funny, apart from their legs as they run to escape trouble - but my kids thought it was hilarious. The toddler actually sat still for five minutes. Watching it, I realised that this was a new-ish TV experience for ...
