A special edition of the topgear programme where the presenters race each other to the North Pole. There's a twist though, two of them are taking a car! Their aim is to show how easy it is to get to the North Pole, and beat their co-presenter who is travelling by traditional husky dog means. So it's really an episode with two functions...one a race, and two to show how easy it is to get to the North Pole. Starting in Resolute Canada, the presenters inform us of their challenge, then the next ten minutes or so show them being trained for arctic conditions. The Top Gear: Polar Challenge is a one off special of the great show Top Gear which see's the three presenters race in freezing, dangerous conditions to see who can reach the north pole. The 70 minute special see's Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May undergo training and then actually attempt to be the first people to drive a vehicle to the north pole. This challenge was more of a two on one with Jeremy Clarkson and James May driving a Toyota to the north pole, and Richard Hammond racing by dog sled. The pairing here was brilliant as anyone who watches the show will know Clarkson and May are prone to have the most arguments, so as you ... Read the complete review

The Top Gear polar challenge is easily one of the best things I have ever had the pleasure to watch on television. Its a mixture of the typical comedy prowess of Clarkson et al but beautifully coupled with a real serious edge at the magnitude of what they are about to attempt. The program starts by outlining the challenge. Basically, Clarkson and May, have prepared a heavily tuned Toyota Hilux and are making at attempt to become the first men ever to drive to the North Pole; something they experts say just is not possible, due to the ice fields and horrific conditions. Whilst they are doing this, Hammond, is racing them in a more traditional way. ... Read the complete review

The Top Gear Polar challenge is an special episode of Top Gear where the presenters try to get to the North Pole from Resolute, Nunavut in Canada. That's over 400 miles. Jeremy and James were in a hevealy modified Toyota Hilux and they had to race against Richard who was using a Dog sled with the help of dog sled driver Matty McNair. The episode lasted the full hour. At the beginning of the episode we get to see the presenters learn more about the dangers of the North Pole and since this is Top Gear you can guess that none of them take it seriously and its just typical top gear humor. Once both teams set off its pretty clear that Richard has the harder job has ... Read the complete review

Top Gear has become one of the UKs most loved programs, with 9 million viewers every week and over 28 million worldwide, the three guys hilarious antics has meant that Top Gear has cemented itself as not only a top car program but also one of the best entertainment shows of all time. In this special episode, the three presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May attempt to reach the magnetic north pole with Richard going by traditional dog sled and James and Jeremy in a modified Toyota Hilux pickup truck (already been proven indestructable in previous Top Gear episodes). The program follows their training and the hardships, arguments and exhaustion that the ... Read the complete review
