Top gear has been going on for a long time, and was presented by Jeremy Clarson with some of the people now doing fifth gear. After splitting ways, (not sure why), Jeremy was then joined by Richard Hammond and then subsequently they were joined by James May. There used to be an arguement that Top gear wasnt giving much advice about cars, and actually reviewing the cars themselves. They then decided to ditch reviewing cars almost completely, and instead of being a factual program, become an entertainment show - as they alluded towards in their most recent episode.

This in my opinion was a great decision, as now everyone loves top gear, not just car entusiasts. It really is a program you can sit down with the whoe family and watch.

They are basically big kids, and all they do is have a laugh, which is brilliant, and as long as you watch it in the right frame of mind, you will have fun and laugh too!

There have been some bits which i think they have gone too far, and have just been stupid, ie, driving through a brick wall with a lorry, but on the whole, they usually just have fun, and it really shows. The episode in America was particularly brilliant, where they bought second hand cars, and drove from florida to new orleans (although im sure some of it will have been faked), it still was great tv!

All in all, its a great show, and perfect for a sunday night! I just wish i could do the sort of stuff they do every week with my mates, as it looks like they have such a great time.

Summary: A brilliant show, and all the better for dumping the factual parts!!
