Advantages: Keeps Little Brains Happy

I despise this programme with a passion. Three overgrown schoolboys (well two overgrown anyway) using silly affected voices in an attempt to try and out do each other.

It is supposed to be about cars but most of the content is plain childish or has no relevance to 90% of car drivers.

It is an indulgent waste of licence fee payer's money and the only people laughing at it are chauvinistic men with pea sized brains and the grossly over paid presenters of this utter drivel of a television programme.

Top Gear was first on our screens in 1977 and up until 2001 combined proper motor car journalism with some jovial, fun and unusual features. William Woollard who presented it for some of this period was if a different league to the terrible trio that front it now.

In 2002 the format changed, it was dumbed down and over time has been effectively handed over to Jeremy Clarkson to use as a platform for his dogmatic views on motoring and life in general.

I realize that some of his output is his "act". Well that's fair enough but then put him on a comedy show or a political satire show and don't pretend that this is a motoring show when it isn't.

James May comes across as a Clarkson wannabe and the Brummie Richard Hammond started out as Clarkson's obedient lap puppy but at least has moved up in the world to terrier status.

This programme really is dire filth of the first order.
