I used to really love this programme when I was growing up. It was a great mixture between a travel show - they went to a different location each week usually associated with a museum or coulntry house and a puzzle show as the contestants had to solve the clues in order for the hunter - Anneka Rice - to find the next clue. the ultimate prize was £1000 pounds if they solved the final clue.

This programme introduced the world to the phrase "stop the clock" when they found the clue and is also probably best remembered for the cameraman constantly focusing on Miss Rice's jumpsuit covered bottom.

They would travel around the locations in a helicopter so it was quite big budget for its day. The contestants in the studio couldn't see anything that was going on and so had to rely on the commentry from Anneka, they were helped in the studio by Kenneth Kendall who used to read the news. He would often "help" the contestants alittle more than a person who didn't know the answer would be in apostion to.

The contestants would have lots and lots of reference books in the studio to try and find out where someone was born or something like that - but if they got stuck or were going totally wrong he would 'suddenly' find something in a book.

This programme was great fun and I think they tried to bring it back a few years ago but in a slightly different format. This at the time was a completely new concept of game shows and it was good to try and solve the puzzles yourself at home!
