Trigger Happy TV Reviews

Newest Review: ... People who are sitting in the park are just mesmorised by the goings on. The facial expressions from these people are classic. Another character which Dom portrays, is that of the park warden. He picks out elderly couples who are sitting relaxing on a park bench. He then goes up to them and tells them that he has a complaint about them swearing and fighting and doing dive bombs into the lake. It is completly ludicrous, but to see the old people defend themselves Whilst Dom is so suspitious is genius. This show was first broadcast on television in 2000 and brought out numerous series until it was shelved in 2002. The beauty of the show ... more

For those of you who have never had the pleasure of watching trigger happy tv, I have to tell you that it is a real laugh out loud television programme. It is a hidden camera show, which sees Dom Jolly taking on various guises in order to get a reaction from the general public. There are various aspects of the show which are so stupid. I am usually not in to silly humour. But it is reactions frome the passers by that gets me giggling every time. One example of this is the sketch where Dom dresses up as a huge pantomime style dog. He then runs around, hiding behind bushes and fighting with another equally huge comedy dog. The People who are sitting in the park ... Read the complete review

I used to watch Trigger Happy TV when it was first on our screens many years ago now. It always used to be shown on Channel 4 and was one of their more successful programmes. At the time it was a unique sketch show and I for one found it very funny. I have not watched it for a fair while now but sometimes catch repeats and still find it hilarious. Trigger Happy TV was the invention of Dom Joly and involves basic humour to be honest with you but shows what we find funny really. There is nothing too complicated at all with alot of the sketches and I think that's a good thing as you don't have to think about it too much. Each episode lasted about half ... Trigger Happy TV stars Dom Jolly and is occasionally on late at night these days. I've seen it a few times on 4music, it used to be on channel 4 a long time ago. The idea is simple, go around the streets of London creating merry hill with a camera crew. The show is a medley of short clips around thirty seconds each, the common theme that links them all is trying to annoy, perplex and puzzle poor defenseless members of the public. Some good examples are a psychotic gentleman who innocently tells an old couple that he's murdered the parks gardner, a bussiness man with an oversized mobile phone shouting his lungs out in various ... Trigger Happy TV is one of those TV shows I really could watch forever. Created and staring Dom Joly, two series of this show were aired between 2000-2002. The show is set in the ever so popular format of a hidden camera show, made popular by the likes of Jeremy Beadle and Noel Edmonds. Dom uses this to his advantage to capture the real reactions of the public, thus making excellent viewing. The most popular 'sketch' that Dom did was the loud talking on a huge nokia-style mobile phone, always in quiet places such as a library or museum, you'd hear the infamous Nokia ringtone in which Dom would then proceed to shout as loud as he could 'HELLO?!!!' ... Trigger Happy TV was an Absolutely Productions production which starred Dom Joly and ran on Channel 4 from 2000-2001. However, you can find repeats of this on miscellaneous digitals channels from time to time. The show was a hidden camera comedy programme where cameraman Sam Cadman would follow Dom Joly around as he played pranks on members of the public and often embarrassed people or got them in to ridiculous situations. One of the most commonly remembered sketches was Dom Joly pulling out a 4 foot long giant Nokia mobile phone which was ringing and then he'd scream HELLO down the phone usually making everyone around him cringe with embarrassment ...
