Advantages: Hilarious, original, great music over the clips
Disadvantages: If seeing people's reactions doesn't interest you, then you might not like this
Trigger Happy TV was screened on Channel 4 between 2000 and 2001. Without any doubt, it has got to be one of my favourite TV shows of all time!
The format of the show is very simple. Comedian, Dom Joly basically does silly things in public, and the public's reaction is captured. The classic sketch that Dom used to carry out, usually at the start of the show was with a huge mobile phone. A mobile phone noise would be made, and he would shout down the phone as loud as he possibly could, often making everyone around him jump! The funniest of these clips for me was filmed in a gentleman's toilet - not something you expect when you are spending a penny!
Overall, my favourite clip of all time is when Dom calls out a chimney sweep for his house, saying that he thinks the chimney is blocked. The chimney sweep lays out his blanket on the floor, so not to get the carpet dirty, and then looks up the chimney. At this point, a man dressed up as Santa Claus falls down the chimney and runs out of the house. The chimney sweep actually chases after him (and I believe he punched him off-camera)!
If you have never seen this programme before, it is well worth watching. You can now buy all of the DVDs from the series at a very reasonable price on various websites.
Summary: Brilliant TV
