Advantages: new type of comedy, not particularily rude
Disadvantages: can get a bit predictable
presenter Dom Joly does this how really well. Each show has many different scenes, and Dom seams to do each job very well. The show is basically different clips of how the public react whe something outragously stupid happens in front of them. Funny examples include Dom Joly posing as a snow man and frightening the pants off people as they walk past. Or Dom taking advantage of elderly people, posing as a police man, accusing them of theft for example. The good thing about the show is that it is filmed without harming anyone. For example the elderly people who are accused of theft aren't insulted by the accusation, there just shocked etc. So the show is funny, but without insulting the public too much. For me the only down side to the show is that you do start to see the sme jokes over and over again, which means the comedy does ware off slightly. This could be one of the reasons why a new series isn't being made, because its hard to think up more jokes that could be played on the public without offending them too much.

- 27/10/01 Sound advice there from T-boy! I enjoy this show. Apparently, he has tried to work in foreign countries but has been arrested too often...
(Dom Joly, not T-boy!) |

- 27/10/01 Six ops in 6 days. well done for the restraint. You need to start reading other ops and people will soon warm to you.
Increase the info content in the ops and you'll be home & dry. :) |

- 27/10/01 It is a great show and I agree with defiler and I certainly am more cautious when in london and anything dodgy seems to be going on - it's like the reputation jeremy beadle had.
Can someone send a letter to Dom and suggest the foreign country idea - it would be a shame if it stopped! |
