I saw "Trisha" this morning and was horrified. I disliked it for the same reason that I dislike the "Jerry Springer Show". I do not like the public exploitation and humiliation of people who do obviously not know any better.

This is supposed to be a current affairs / general interest programme, but are there really lots of people like this? Are the guests of this show representative of the viewing population? Or is everybody looking on in horror, with the occasional titter of embarressment, like me?

This morning we saw an argument between a girl and her father explode into something that looked irreparable. The father had left the girl's mother for the girl's best friend (17 years old) - I can't be bothered to go into any more detail.

Are these people in these situations typical or is this just cheap programme making?

The latter, I think.
