The stories were always excellent, written by highly respected writers such as Richard Matheson (who wrote the source novel for all 3 versions of the I AM LEGEND film), Harlan Ellison and Jerry Sohl, along with many stories written by Serling himself. High quality was also seen in the cast for the stories too, with such fantastic actors as Burgess Meredith (later famous as The Pengiun in the Batman TV series, and of course as Sylvester Stallone's coach in the ROCKY movies) and William Shatner, who would of course later become infamous as the captain of the Enterprise, J... more |

Created by Rod Serling, THE TWILIGHT ZONE originally ran on US television from 1969 to 1964, following by 2 revivals, one in the 1980s and one in the early 2000s. Among them Star Trek, Doctor Who, Quatermass … and The Twilight Zone. Even among the classic sf TV shows, it is expected that some episodes will turn out, upon viewing by a modern audience many years later, to have dated very badly: the pacing may be excruciatingly slow, the acting may be twee, the characters may be stereotypes, perhaps even presented in an un-PC way which seems slightly offensive to modern sensibilities. Star Trek and Doctor Who, for ... Read the complete review
