wrapped in plastic (Twin Peaks (1990))

Advantages: Great suspense, real cliffhangers Disadvantages: a bit odd - sometimes scary
When Twin peaks first was shown, it began with a slightly weird sinister plot line, with the dead body of Laura Palmer being washed up wrapped in plastic and the subsequent FBI investigation. Along with lots of different sub-plots and characters some providing comic relief and others more serious. As the shows progressed, in the first series, it really drew you in and had a really sinister undertone which was like nothing else at the time. I recall shows such as LA Law and NYPD Blue being around at the same time and although I used to enjoy these, Twin Peaks kept me coming back for different reasons. Summary: Nothing else like it.
