Advantages: great one-liners
Disadvantages: too many repeats
Emmy Award nominated Two and a Half Men is currently the biggest comedy in America and has been for the past four seasons. Not bad considering the vast choice of comedies available on American TV.
It's a great comedy about the lives of two brothers, Charlie and Alan Harper, and Alan's son Jake.
Charlie is a well-off bachelor with a flash car in the driveway and gorgeous home on the beach in Malibu. He writes jingles for a living and not much else apart from drink and sleep with tons of hot young girls.
A nice relaxed, laid back lifestyle. Until that is Alan and Jake come to live with him 'temporarily' after Alan's divorce from his deeply neurotic ex.
Alan is tightly wound and has a totally different outlook and beliefs from Charile and concerna bout how Charlie's lifestyle will affect Jake - a typical teenager, doing typically annoying and stupid teenage things.
Evelyn is their toxic mother often referred to as 'satan' whom they try to spend as little time with as possible.
Berta is Charlie's blue-collar, straight talking, no apologies housekeeper, prone to expressing her opinion whether asked for or not. Charlie's crazy ex-next door neighbour Rose is obsessed with him to the point of stalking.
This series, Charlie is reluctantly growning up and is actually in a relationship with Chelsea. After a lifetime of freedom and loose women, can he manage to stick with one woman?
This is a really amusing show and they have some big names doing cameo roles. Jake is hysterical in his role, and the writers do a great job on all the characters and their quick one-liners.
