Quite often, Heathrow is focused upon, and this generally involves seeing a job that I would never wish to do in my life. The jobs these people do are vital to things such as the security of our country and upholding the ... more

Premium Review UK Border Force: Immigration control spreads inland... (523 words)

This Sky1 TV programme is one of those fly on the wall documentaries that follows a selection of border patrol officers, as they control the borders of the UK. This could involve any type of border, including ferry crossings, cruise ships, and flights. While other shows mainly focus on the airport security, this does involve sea border patrols, which are very diverse. It's pretty good in terms of providing true stories and a real representation of actual cases, and it interviews the authorities behind the scenes as the show features individual cases, almost in more depth and detail than other shows may do. It's very interesting to see the various different ...  Read the complete review

UK Border Force is a documentary series looking into immigration officers at work across the country as well as looking at the work of border officers making sure illegals don't get into the UK. It is broadcast on Sky 1 & the new series is also broadcast in high definition. Immigration officers are shown at work across the country visiting locations where they suspect illegal workers may be employed. These workers are normally paid below the minimum wage & are working/living under terrible conditions. Also featured are the staff at Calais who have to detect any illegals which may be trying to cross the border hidden away in lorrys. They have some ...  Read the complete review

UK Border Force is a programme shown on Sky1 which follows selected people who "control" the borders of the UK. I was made to watch this programme because the other half works for the government and thought it'd be interesting. She's right that it is interesting, but it isn't half frustrating as well. The programme usually follows selected teams at different places around the UK. We see the people who work at the immigration desk in Heathrow, the teams who raid suspected illegal immigrants and sometimes we'll see teams based in another country - whether it be people checking lorries in Calais for stowaways or people who process visa applications in ...  Read the complete review

UK Border Force is a show on Sky 1 and aims to show the measures taken by various authorities in the UK to prevent illegal immigrants from continuing to work in this country. It follows the immigration officers at Heathrow Airport's Terminal 3 and various immigration police forces like one based in Yeovil, Somerset. It also looks at the UK Border Patrol officers in Calais who aim to prevent illegal immigrants that hide in goods lorrys destined for the UK from enterting Britain. I find myself wondering if the programme was started in a rather politcal manner, because the issue of illegal immigrants is one that conjures anger to the average Briton on the street, ...  Read the complete review
