USA HighNewest Review: ... cause of american gun crime. It took me a while to find a review for this particular program as it had comnpletely passed me by to check the comedy index. Thats how good this program is. Saved by the bell in the late 80's achieved emornous acclaim for one reason or another, it was never that funny but everyone loved the charcters. The first time i saw this i was immediately reminded of it, and thought maybe i was onto something. Alas, no. did you ever wonder what would happen if a network decided to put 6 of the biggest national stereotypes in a house and film them for god knows how long? this is exactly what it would be like. Particula... more |

Everyone likes Tv? Everyone watches Tv, at least occasionally. With the amount of programs which are out there nowadays obviously your going to come accross a dud once in a while right? This program is like someone setting you on fire and putting you out with a fork. Its like seeing your favourite toy melted, its like someone pushing rusty pennies behind your eyes. It makes you want to shoot someone. This is the sole cause of american gun crime. I admit that I did used to watch this, and had forgot all about this show until I saw it on Sky Digital's Trouble channel - 607 the other day. I watched most of it to see what it was all about and I admit it wasn't that good. It is about a high school in Paris. The show mainly revolves around 6 students, the head teacher and the french teacher. there are 3 girls who are pretty similar characters, and the 3 boys - one is german, one is a geek and the other is a jock. The headmaster is the dad of one of the girls and he fancies the french teacher. I have read on this site that it is similar to Saved by the bell - that's true, but I thought ... This is awful. I don’t really know how I’m going to fill up my minimum word count because this is just plain awful and the public should know about it. The canned laughter is piled out to try to disguise the fact that the ( unfunny ) jokes can be seen a mile away ( they practically have neon signs above them saying “Get ready with the fake laughs” ). The whole setting is completely contrived. Six young ( but not young enough for high school ) people ( even numbers of each sex, obviously ) live at a boarding school in Paris. Where everyone has an American accent. And no one speaks French. The show comes with all of your favourite stereotypes ( ... Read the complete review

Ok, come on admit it - you loved Saved By The Bell. It was funny, quite original, entertaining - well basically everything that this is not. Peter Engel shows are ususally watchable - SBTB and California Dreams (well maybe that was just me!) were good to watch on Sunday mornings when you couldn't be bothered to do anything. This however is dire. Its about an American high school in Paris. Although the only "french" person on it is the female teacher - the regulatory sex symbol that all the boys fantasise about! And yes, those are sarcastic quotation marks. Her french accent is nearly as appalling as the english ones. Its got the usual ... Read the complete review

Not familiar with the name Peter Engel ? Well he's the man responsible for some of the most mundane shows on TV. His resume includes Saved By the Bell, USA High and Malibu CA. All these shows cater for the no brains audience with their moral stories played out by a limited in talent cast of good-looking teenagers. USA High follows the same themes as its sister programmes. It's a basic group comprising three men and three women who go through life at a boarding school in the USA. One of them is meant to be English but has one of those plummy accents that the yanks think everybody over has. Her father is the principle. Cue bad English accent and good-looking ...
