Veronica's Closet

Newest Review: ... But unlike so many of the other's this one is not as much rubbish as many of the others. The show stars Kirstie Alley ( you may remember her better from Cheers and Look who's Talking 1 and 2 fame ) along with some other rather good actors and actresses. Kirstie plays Veronica ( hence the name of the show) - who is the Fashion editor of a large magazine. The show is based around the everyday life of Veronica both in the aspect of her work and home life ( private life included) But the show mainly concentrates on her life at work - and believe you me this can be very amusing indeed. Each week a new adventure in her life unfolds ... more

When I first sw thi show advertised among the late night Thursday night viewing - I thought Oh no another crap American sitcom - but hey I was surprised when I actually watched it. Yep, as I said it's another one of many imported sitcom's to grace our television screens. But unlike so many of the other's this one is not as much rubbish as many of the others. The show stars Kirstie Alley ( you may remember her better from Cheers and Look who's Talking 1 and 2 fame ) along with some other rather good actors and actresses. When you have the theme tune changed three times....the first an original song, the next being Moby’s ‘Bodyrock’ and the next just an instrumental, you wonder why they concentrate on that rather than what is far, far more important....the comedy after the opening credits. Kirstie Alley is simply not ‘funny’. She is Veronica Chase, a character we’re supposed to sympathise with her as her business is changing hands, her love life’s in a mess as are her friends’ personal lives. I cannot ‘root’ for Veronica. She is high-strung, quick-tempered, vulnerable, insipid, weak and we’re supposed to ...  Read the complete review

This programme is great and will make you laugh so much your sides will ache, but unlike Friends you can take it or leave it. It doesn't have you not wanting to miss the next episode, you don't find yourself 2 seconds before you walk out the door making sure you've set up the video recorder. I do like it. I like the way Veronica is always messing things up and the way her secretary is so camp. The storys don't really go anywhere though, it good to watch when there is nothing else on. Good but not unmissable. ...  Read the complete review

I first caught this series staring Kirsty Alley on Sky One when it first started I started to lose interest by the 3rd episode Don’t get me wrong the series is ok and there are some good laughs but it didn’t keep my interest. I think it was set in the Big Apple around a Lingerie business apart from that nothing much else happened. At the moment Sky are showing a new series I have not watched it yet so I can’t comment on this yet. Will appeal to some people but not all. ...  Read the complete review

this is an american sitcom about a lingerie manufacturer in new york with kirstie alley.....it is entertaining, hip, favourtising the larger woman and very funny......this makes you go out as a woman larger than a size 16 and buy sexy knicker sets and wear them with pride....the guys are gorgeous too, but that is just a bonus......sky one has invested in a brilliant well written sitcom that beckons people to visit new york, and listen to moby (he provided the music) - ...  Read the complete review
