Advantages: some good stories

Waterloo road is a kind of soap which is on once a week on BBC one and which is set around a school which is in quite a rough area of Manchester.
The drama is set mainly on the children however it also follows the staff, and the parents of the kids so id say about half of the drama is filmed at the school and half is probably filmed at other peoples homes, or elsewhere.

The program is an hour long and always fairly interesting with lots of good storyline, some of the storylines may seem a bit unbelievable though, one a couple of weeks ago now was where a young lad shot dead his girlfriend and whilst it was good viewing it did seem a bit too over the top in terms of storylines.

I say it's a bit like a soap however it is only on one day a week, which is currently Wednesday night at 8 o'clock. It is set out very nicely though and each episode seems to run over several days without it seeming too rushed like some programs do.

Now I have only been watching this for a few episodes now, and I do feel a bit gutted that I only just started to watch this as I think its in its 4th series now. Therefore I don't really know all the characters but my favourite so far is Bolton Smilie.
He was the main character in the last episode as he was fighting another student from another school in a boxing match, however his trainer gave him some illegal drugs to boost his performance.

Waterloo road is a fantastic drama, it wasn't something I thought would be at all interesting at first and this put me off watching it for a while, perhaps because its set at a school I thought it would be really kiddish and boring however it's the total opposite and is a great program.

Summary: a good drama
