Laugh-a-lot drama that is unrealistic in a good way! (Waterloo Road)

Advantages: Comedy, Series drama meaning that you can't get bored too easily

Disadvantages: Sometimes really stupid acting or stupid storylines

What is it?
Waterloo Road is a BBC television drama shown on BBC 1 which is based in a high school setting. This high school appears to be more underachieving than average and also will have more scandals and weird teenage problems that most run-of-the-mill schools. Currently Waterloo Road is off air, however a new series is very likely.

Storylines/Acting Quality:
The storylines are very similar, teenage pregancy, gun crime within schools, obsessive parents, poor results, personal problems ... the list does literally just go on! Normally the storylines are well written, and although they may be one major storyline per episode, there is normal backgroud storylines that are also introduced and made clear during the whole series - making it fit together well, and help it to seem more like a continuous drama.

Acting quality varies much to the individual actor, on the whole it is generally great, with a few acceptions.

Good/Bad:
Personally I really like this drama; it uses comedy to good affect, is a 'clean' cut drama, and although doesn't really reflect how high school education is -if it did, nobody would watch it - for the majority does make you feel for the characters, laugh and generally really enjoy watching it!

Summary: Great for laughs, just don't watch it all year round - don't make it into a program like the bill!
