Disadvantages: really morale busting

Once again we are faced with the dog-eat-dog culture that TV has recently begun adopting.
This is a game where players are part of a team and then get voted out as being useless....
I really dislike these games, akin to Big Brother, where you are encouraged to bond with someone and then discard them to the amusement of viewers.....I think this type of thing is bad for self confidence and even worse for team building.....
Anne Robinson is uncharacteristically unforgiving and seems to revel in further humiliating the hapless losers.
