The weakest link is aired on BBC 2 on weekdays, and is a quiz show hosted by the notoriously evil Anne Robinson.

The gameshow consists of a number of contestants, who answer questions one by one. For each correct answer the contestants give, more money is added to a central pot. A contestant then needs to say bank, to switch the money into a pot which cannot be lost. If a contestant answers a question wrong, then any money not banked is immediately lost.

At the end of each round, each contestant has to write the name of another on a piece of card, and the person with the most votes is booted off, to the sound of 'you are the weakest link, goodbye'. The votes are often tactical, and good players can be voted off if contestants think the vote might keep them in the game.

The final round is heads up, and the winner wins the money in the pot.

Anne Robinson questions all players throughout the show, often being mean, which adds to the comedy value of the show.
