The Weakest Link
Basically, the Weakest Link is a BBC gameshow where contestants work together to build up as big a cash prize fund as possible in the time available, by answering a series of questions correctly - the longer they continue to get correct answers, the more money is built up, but only if they remember to bank the money. If someone gets a question wrong, the cash prize fund goes back to £0 and they have to start again.
At the end of every round, contestants are asked who they believe was the "weakest link" in the last round, whoever wins tho most votes is booted off, accompanied by sarcastic comments from host (Anne Robinson). As less people remain, tactical voting is often used to get rid of the strongest competition, thus allowing the voter the best chance to get to the final and win the money.
Anne Robinson has become renowned for her pithy comments, instead of smiling and welcoming guests, she smirks and offers witty put downs, attempting to add to their nerves. This is all very tongue in cheek and contestants are reported to look forward to meeting Anne as much as entering the show.
The show is usually on at around the 5pm mark so chances are that you have seen it. It is easy to watch and to join in with, whether you mean to or not, you find yourself answering questions and berating guests who get them wrong! Well worth a watch if you are in at the time, it's a simple concept that still works.
Summary: Give it a try, it is entertaining
