Advantages: Anne rocks

Disadvantages: But its still a dull quiz show

What is it about The Weakest Link that everybody loves? Is it the sheer cruelty of seeing somebodys best efforts sneered at by the other so-called superiors as they traipse of the set? Is it the opportunity to win up to 20 grand? Or is it the fact that Anne Robinson is everybody's dream headmistress? Do we all want to be disciplined by her as she raps us on the knuckle sfor failing in Geography or History?

Has the world gone mad? Why are we so obsessed with a general knowledge quiz show? Are we not sick of smooth Tarrant dishing out dosh on ITV? Have we not twigged that Anne is giving away OUR valued licence fees when she awards all this cash?

In effect this is the same programme as Millionaire but with a slightly tweaked formula - we've got the virtual same soundtrack, the same set, the same bleedin questions and the same gormless contestants. The difference is that rather than having Tarrant dribbling all over the female contestants we've got Anne giving the blokes a hard time whilst they all fantasise about her giving them what for over her desk after school.

The Beeb are on a winner without even knowing it - what we need next is for Anne to put them in detention, or to hand them 100 lines to write out before the next school day. Then we could dress them all up in school uniform and sell it to japanses television as some sort of erotica.
