Advantages: A quiz show, can watch people win money or lose money

Disadvantages: I find it quite borning unless they are on a lot of money

Who wants to be a millionaire is presented by Chris Tarrant. The show begins with fastest finger first where "10 lucky hopefuls" put 4 answers into a particular order the fastest to get the answers in the right order get to play in the hot seat with Chris Tarrant. The aim is to answer 12 questions (used to be 15) to reach one million pounds. The questions are general knowledge and cover all sorts so it is completely down to what questions you get to how far the players get. There are three lifelines these are ask the audience, phone a friend and 50/50.

The three lifelines can be chosen whenever the person in the seat is stuck on a question. Ask the audients involves the audients hearing the question and the four possible answers then using a panel under there seat to choose A,B,C answer or D. The player can then choose after seeing how many people chose which answer what answer they want to go with or they can still take the money they are on and run! Phone a friend involves having 1 minute of phone time where Chris tell the friend the question and the 4 possible answers then the player speaks to them to see if they know the answer. I have watched it a few times when the time ran out just before they can say what they think the answer is which is really funny in a mean way. Again the player can go with the answer the friend gave or choose there own or take the money. 50/50 is the last lifeline it takes way 2 wrong answers so the player has the right answer and one wrong answer. The player can use more then one lifeline at a time and can still take the money or pick there own answer at any time.

Who wants to be a millionaire is on the TV a lot but I only watch it if there is nothing else on. It is shown on channel 4 in the evenings at about 9 PM and lasts about an hour. I think this is to long for this show. If they were to cut out some of the suspense building and recaps, they could fit more people in or make the show shorter.

There is a viewer question, which has four answers to choose from to win £1,000 viewers can either text, phone or enter online. The question appears before or after every advertisement break.

There are amounts when they reach a sum which will be the least they can go home with these amounts are £1,000, and £50,000 once you have reached one of these amounts if you get a question wrong you drop down to that amount.

The show often does celebrity shows where two celebrities take to the chair to raise money for a charity of there choice. The best thing about the celebrities is watching them squirm, as they have to agree on an answer so they have to trust each other.

The music on this show really builds the tension, as do the adverts whenever possible Chris will break for the adverts at a particularly scary moment as the player answers an important question at a milestone where they could drop a lot of money!

Chris Tarrant has some catchphrases which he uses on the show regularly some of them are "Were are not going to give you that" "Is that your final answer" He also offers the players cheques when they reach certain amounts then takes them back.

There have been some very funny shows in the past I watched on where Chris offered the bloke a cheque because he had reached one of the milestones where the cash was safe and the player ripped it up and said "but we are not going to give you that" then he got the next question wrong and had to ask Chris to write another cheque.

There are a lot of different formats of this game like ds, playstation etc games. I haven't ever played this and I i don't think i would enjoy them as there is no real money so it would be a bit pointless.

I don't tend to watch this very often as it doesn't really interest me. If you like quizzes you can shout the answers at the TV from the comfort of your home but I am not good at general knowledge. I have tuned in quite a few times when I have been channel hopping and noticed they are on a lot of money so watched till they lose. I don't find it very interesting until they get to about £50,000! If there is nothing on then I tune in but otherwise it is pot luck!

Summary: We are not going to give you that!!
