I'm going to review the American version of this show; with host Drew Cary with comedians, Wayne Brady, Ryan Stiles and Colin Mochrie. There is then always an extra comedian to make this up to four - these guests range from Robin Williams to Whoopi Goldberg. In the UK this is shown on the digital channel Five US and is one of my favourite shows. It's an improvisational comedy show where the presenter, Drew, chooses different games to play including two or all four of the other comedians. Just a few of these games include: *Sound Effects: where two members of the audience are chosen at random to make the sound effects on stage for a certain scene ... Read the complete review

This programme seems to be on constantly in our house at the moment - FiveUs are showing the US version of this show - with those shown in the picture above on saturday lunchtimes. The shows were made in the mid nineties we think from some of the political refernces and the style of the clothes but apart from this you would never know that it wasn't made last week. The humour is the sort that just lasts and lasts - people making fools of themselves. The idea is that the show is unscripted - I'm sure that it is but I would love to know how much preparation time they are given before they actually shoot the scenes that we see on the television - I ... Whose line is it anyway must be one of my favourite TV shows of all time. Its layout is a comedy show which is all improvised, and each show has four comedians, usually the same people, with a couple of variations sometimes who are given various tasks to improvise or different scenarios to act out. It actually started as a radio show and was quite successful and so was made into a TV show for channel four in 1988. It ran for quite a lot of series, until it stopped in 1998. However after that ABC began an American version of the show hosted by Drew Carey instead of Clive Anderson. However my two favourite comedians off whose line, Ryan Stiles and Colin ... I'm writing this review about both the UK and US versions. Whose line Is It Anyway? Originally a radio programme until it became a TV show on Channel 4 in the UK. It became so popular that when it finished in 1998, the American channel ABC picked it up and it became an equal success in the US. It is all about improvisation, there's no scripts or rehearsal everything is made up on the spot, there is a panel of four and the host, no door is left unopened as they cover evrything from singing to audience involvement. In the UK edition, Clive Anderson is the host. He keeps things under control and takes suggestions from the audience as to what the next ... Read the complete review

WHAT IS IT ABOUT: A comedy show based on a group of comedians giving improvised performances revolving around props, scenarios and songs. The show began in the 80s on UK TV, but now resides in the US, and is hosted by Drew Carrey, with Ryan Stiles and Colin Mockery as regular participants. IS IT ANY GOOD: Yet again the US have beaten the UK at their own game. The older, UK, episodes are very hit or miss, with the quality depending totally on the guests. When Tony Slattery is on I just about want to vomit. Yes, the two best guests were always Ryan Stiles and Colin Mockery. I think they knew this, and so they took the show back to the US and re-vamped ... Read the complete review
