Wish You Were HereNewest Review: ... the nearest you can get is to watch "wish you was here" And it also gives you advice on where you can go on holiday, thats the main purpose of the show! But to improve the show i think they should include evereything so you know exactly what you should expect at the place you may want to go because im sure it is not as perfect as they make out. I love travelling and it is a very handy show to watch as it does include alot about the local people and the country not just about apartments. ... more |

There was a time when I used to enjoy watching Wish You Were Here....? but I can't remember why. It may be that I'm getting cynical in my old (well middle) age, and maybe it's always been the case, but all I can see in this programme is plugs for hotels and resorts. Where's the objectivity? Where's the advice I really need? - (this hotel's useless, this area's over commercialised, etc.) Since when have celebrity reporters been travel writers? Why should I rate their opinions over those of anyone who can take a free holiday and talk into a camera? What this programme should give us is ... Read the complete review

Wish you were here is a great show where you can dream of your dream holiday. think about what it would be like, where they all are. In that country. The only problem standing in my way is - WHERE DO I GET THE MONEY FROM???!!! The places they show on Wish you Were here rea very good and all has very good advantages abut them. Some have 5 star hotels, some have a breath-taking scenery, some have attractions close by. Wish you Were Here have carefully selected onyl the best destinations. I would recommend this show to anyone - it's the next best thing after actually being in that country on your holidays. ... Read the complete review

Wish You Were Here? Sadly, not any more... This programme used to utilise the services of arguably the best travel journalist in the business, John Carter. He was extremely knowlegable about the destination covered and the travel industry as a whole. Nowadays, I'm afraid to say, the emphasis is more on young, egotisitic "personalities" like soap actresses or so-called stars of docusoaps. You can guarantee that these "stars" will, at some point in the report, announce that the best way to see the destination is by helicopter. It may make good tv, but helicopter rides are beyond the budgets of most holidaymakers. ... Read the complete review

this programme can be nice and sit down to eat your tea to, but please this is just fantasy. how many of you readers or i have the money to buy a big holiday such as the ones shown and even do all of the avtivities that the lucky presenters do? thought so no-one. it is total fantasy. and when they round yp a holiday how many people actually use their accomidation and prices. this is just unrealistic. just read the brochures if you need a holiday! ...
