Disadvantages: It wastes time in the TV schedules

There was a time when I used to enjoy watching Wish You Were Here....? but I can't remember why.

It may be that I'm getting cynical in my old (well middle) age, and maybe it's always been the case, but all I can see in this programme is plugs for hotels and resorts.

Where's the objectivity?

Where's the advice I really need? - (this hotel's useless, this area's over commercialised, etc.)

Since when have celebrity reporters been travel writers?

Why should I rate their opinions over those of anyone who can take a free holiday and talk into a camera?

What this programme should give us is objective reporting and the information we need to make an informed choice when choosing a holiday. As it is Wish You Were Here is just a travel programme version of Hello magazine.
