Underground, overground, wombling free - it's good to see Wombles are back on tv. A chance for another generation to get to know those furry little recyclers. Gosh, I had a Great Uncle Bulgaria way back then ... it'll seem odd to be getting them now for MY grandchildren. I'm glad that they've decided to bring back the old shows on ... The Wombles is an animated but not cartoon TV series made famous by its theme tune and by the connection it had with children as it was aired on our TVs. As a child, I thoroughly enjoyed watching it, and it also taught me to not litter. The Wombles are rodent-like furry creatures in humanoid form that roam Wimbledon Common and pick up ... Before I start reliving my childhood by remembering the good old days of the Wombles I would like to make a complaint. The show was revamped recently for todays children and some new characters were added. My understanding from an early age was that the Wombles had been all named by Great Uncle Bulgaria after places on his map, so could someone ... Read the complete review

“Wombles of Wimbledon Common are we”, well, they’re also wombling on the internet these days, actually, their official site being: http://www.wombles.tv/pages/fmain.htm Remember that the Wombles, back in 1975 were way before their time – they recycled everything and made good use of the things that they found. ... The WOmbles was made for "nice kids". it was the animated equivalent of Blue Peter. Nobody I knew as a child would admit to liking it. Strange how things change. We're in the middle of a Womble Frenzy as twenty-somethings collect the MacDonalds' toys and the Beanie Babies and gobble up the video releases. Yes, ... Read the complete review

My daughter loves this, and so did I when I was a child, too. It's on Nick jnr on sattelite and its about these little hairy Wombles that go around and tidy up rubbish. They have their own personallties, like: Tomsk is the strong but no common sense womble. Orinoco is the greedy one whos always eating! There's Bungo who gets Tomsk to do his ... The wombles seems to have been reborn as of late, used to be a cult programme in my younger days. Set on wimbledon common, the wombles live in a burrow or den and are furry animals who collect rubbish from around the common and find good uses for it. It is one programme which has a message about keeping the country tidy yet puts it across ... Read the complete review

To all you Womblers out there, i ask you to stop and take notice. I stand here before you and say that the Wombles are the greatest thing to happen to Children's T.V in the history of the world. Where else will you find a children's program that addreses environmental issues as well as Uncle Bulgaria's team of environmentalists? Apart ... Read the complete review

I dunno, kids these days are lucky! When I was a kid (in the 80's) I think we were treated to grainy 70's re-runs of The Wombles and they seemed so old, but those characters were cute and funny; you loved them. Their antics were amazing, and Great Uncle Bulgaria's classic stories put your real uncle's to shame. The quality may have ... Read the complete review
