Advantages: Great entertainment for the young children

Disadvantages: Annoying song

My 3 year old just loves Nick Junior. As soon as he gets up of a morning he rushes to the TV and can find 715/716 on our cable TV. One of the childrens programs he watches is Wonder Pets. He absolutely adores them. To be honest I find them really annoying little things, but at nearly forty I guess the program isn't aimed at me!!

I guess you can say that this program is set to appeal to the 2-5 year olds. I know he's certainly been watching them for a couple of years. I think it started around 2007, because it was never on for my other children - it seems like forever.

Moving on to the story. There are 3 pets in classroom and when the children all go home they become WONDER pets. The 3 pets consist of Linny the Guinea Pig, Ming-Ming Duckling, and Turtle Tuck. Linny is the leader and is quite fearless. She wears a yellow cap and blue cape. Ming-Ming as you can tell by her flying hat is the one who can fly in the group (just) and Tuck being a turtle is the Swimmer. They normally receive a phone call (from a tin can) each day and can see an 'animal in trouble).

For those who watch the program you will be familiar with the song

'The phone, The phone is ringing,
The phone we'll be wight there,
The phone, The phone is ringing,
There's an animal in trouble,
There's an animal in twouble somewhere'

This is the most annoying song you are ever likely to hear in your life
but you can't help sing along to it. My son watches seriously as if an animal is in trouble. The wonder pets then quickly make their 'fly boat' and fly away to help the animal in trouble.

The moral the WONDER pets try and portray is that everybody has something to offer. As a team if everybody works together they can bring their own skills to the 'party' and work as a team. It is only by doing it this way that they can help all the animals. In fact throughout the program they keep singing 'what's going to work - teamwork'. This is another infuriating little song they sing. Well in my opinion anyway - not in the eyes of my little 3 year year old who thinks it is wonderful.

In all a great tv program for the littleuns. I'll give it marks on my review in the eyes of my son. Did I really just do a review on Wonder Pets? I need help :-)

Summary: A great program to keep the littleuns happy!
