Working LunchNewest Review: ... is patronising and completely useless; if you need terms like price to earnings explained to you why would you care whether BP. Is up a penny today? The producers really need to get the courage to select a target audience and either proclaim themselves teachers and produce a curriculum to run regardless of what's in the news or make a programme for shareholders and allow experts to say words even as long and complicated as "fund" without leaping for a dictionary. WL has a strict structure with no links. Early on they show the changes in a grid of popular shares, then they show a case study which is completely irrelevant and say... more |

Bring Back Adam Shaw and Adrian Chiles, the programme used to be fun, light hearted and relevant. The programme has plummeted in popularity since the new dreary presenters Declan Curry (who I used to enjoy the few minutes on the BBC morning news) and Naga Munchutty have taken over. Declan looks ridiculous wobbling around on the edge of the seat which forms part of the tacky new studio set up.
Just suffered today's programme were it addressed student budgeting. Students appeared on the programme asking such brainless questions you wonder why on earth there at University in the first place. Another story involved a man who changed to a water metre, his pipe burst and he ran up a £2000 bill. We learnt from this that lagging your pipes may help.

Working lunch is shown on BBC 2 between 12:00 and 12:30 on weekdays. The programme sets out to explore current affairs from a business perspective. Unfortunately the show is positioned to appeal to a very select group of people who are fascinated by shares but don't know what they are. The result is patronising and completely useless; if you need terms like price to earnings explained to you why would you care whether BP. Is up a penny today? Working Lunch is a lunch time week day BBC2 television programme that gives advice and has features, reports and chats to experts regarding personal finance, consumer issues, big business and national economics. The show was first presented by Adam Shaw and by Adrian Chiles who has since gone on to bigger and better things. It is currently presented by Declan Curry and Naga Munchetty. I personally can't stand the programme or its style but I know some people who are absolutely addicted to watching it. The reason I don't like it is because it conveys a subliminal air of superiority which assumes that the viewing audience are a ... Read the complete review

This programme is on every day around 12.30 on BBC 2. I find myself sadly addicted to this finance programme. As I am currently at home on Maternity leave and can't stand Loose women, when my little boy has his lunch time nap I will tune in. It has recently had a bit of a revamp with the two previous presenters disappearing (Adam Shaw now seems to do reports on Radio 4) and two new presenters, Declan Curry and Naga Munchetty taking over. I'm not sure if I like them as much as the other two. They seems to have made it a bit more bland. Also they had a studio revamp and got rid of the little shark cushions. In the current financial ... I find myself watching Working Lunch everyday now to keep up to date about the current financial and economic situation. Since those days when Adrian Chiles was the presenter, the programme have change and have included more topics that concern the man in the street. The programme is aired every day for half an hour, immediately after the daily politics, from 1230hrs to 1300hrs. The present Working Lunch is hosted by Declan Curry and Naga Munchutty. There will always be a guest on the show, last week , Richard Branson was there to talk about his new book and his view about the current economic crisis and the Shell UK chairman, James Smith, talking about oil ...
