Advantages: Hot off the press

Disadvantages: Not time to cover some subjects in detail

If you're not actually at work you can still listen to some good humoured and informative chit chat by switching on Channel 5, from 9.15 every weekday, except during holiday periods. After the school run with my grandchild, I quite often make a mug of coffee, and sit down to watch it for a bit.It is the sort of programme that you can dip in and out of, I don't think I've ever watched it straight through, but I've seen all the different parts from time to time.
Usually, but not always, its hosted by Matthew Wright, and it runs along quite smoothly. Matthew is or can be quite sharp, but not afraid to tell a story against himself. His best quality in my opinion is that he des not tolerate racism in any guise whatsoever, and will soon shut up any viewer who breaks this golden rule. His contempt for the BNP even over rides his jokey dislike of Jeremy Kyle, or Jeremy Vile..
If you haven't seen the show its filmed with a live audience. 3 panellists consist of 2 regular guests , usually someone you will have heard of already eg Ann Diamond, Janet Ellis, David Bull, Carol Thatcher to name a few who readily spring to mind, together with a guest invited for a special reason eg a new book or film just out. The guests run through the morning papers, and then turn to a subject of the day.Sometimes an audience member may have something to say,and there is a phone in. Lots of viewers do just this, and have their say too, unless Matthew cuts them off.
The last section of the day consists of an invited expert giving advice and taking calls. I haven't watched this bit much, but what I've seen it seems quite good, I enjoyed the colour therapist, helping us decide what colours we sould be wearing, and the juicing expert. Really though this section is a bit short to learn much, sometimes it starts to give tips on relationships, or childcare.which are huge topics. Its now on Twitter apparently, never tried that myself.
So, this is just a brief look at the Wright Stuff, all I can say is if you've a choice between that or Jeremy Vile, go for the Wright Stuff.

Summary: Got to be better than Jeremy Vile
