Advantages: great night of action

Disadvantages: had to end

Two of the biggest rivalries where to be settled tonight. Eight matches with 7of them for titles. A card that makes some PPV look pathetic, this was great, this was amazing, this was....UNFORGIVEN.

4 Way Elimination match for the WWF Tag Team titles
Dudley Boyz(c) vs Hardy Boyz vs Big Show & Spike Dudley vs The Hurricane & Lance Storm

In a match that had everything, the power of the Big Show, the high flying moves of The Hardyz and the comedy of The Hurricane. The match would be decided when 3 teams had been eliminated by pin-fall, submission or count out. It looked as though The Dudleyz were going to have a tough time defending their titles that they had won just a week ago on Raw is War. With 2 teams from the Alliance and 2 from WWF it looked as though there was going to be some teaming up. The match seemed quite level between all 4 teams with blows being exchanged between all the teams. The referee had good control over the match until all 8 men entered the ring and havoc broke loose. Finally after some brawling The Hurricane was pinned which eliminated himself and Lance Storm from the match up. The next team eliminated was Spike Dudley and Big Show after brave Spike was pinned. This left The Hardyz and The Dudleyz who have had a rivalry whilst The Dudleyz were in the WWF (remember the TLC matches, classical!!!). Anyway where was I, oh yeah, the last 2 teams were Hardyz and Dudleyz. It was a fierce battle with at times both teams taking the upper hand, but eventually Bubba picked up the win pinning Matt and retaining the WWF tag team titles for himself and brother D-Von.

Perry Saturn vs Raven w/ Terri

This match came about when Raven and Terri found 'Moppie'. When it seemed that Perry and Moppie were to be reunited Raven put Moppie through an incinerator. So the match started out with both fighters exchanging blows. Saturn had promised to rip Raven apart like what Raven did to Moppie and he did so and after some goo
d moves being demonstrated and effort by both Perry came out on top after picking up the 1...2...3.

Intercontinental Championship Match
Edge (c) vs Christian
One of the hottest WWF rivalries at the moment. The former 7 times Tag Team champions and also brothers were going at it as Christian challenged Edge so that Christian could prove himself in singles competition. The match started out with the brothers punching at each other as if they were two drunken men in a street not caring for one another. It was a very strange match because both wrestlers knew each other’s moves and often countered. Christian eventually hit The Empaler and rolled outside for some chairs and he set Edge up for the one-man con-chair-to. Edge got out of the way in time and set Christian up for the same move, but the referee pulled the chair away from Edge. With the referee distracted Christian picked up a chair and hit Edge with a low-blow and rolled Edge up for the win and the Intercontinental Championship.

WCW Tag Team title match
Kane & Undertaker (c) vs Kronik w/ Steven Richards
Kane and Taker started the match pounding on Brian Adams and Bryan Clark after they cost them the WWF Tag Team titles earlier in the week on RAW. It was quite an easy match with Kane and Taker controlling most of it. Undertaker tied the match up for the brothers with a chokeslam to Adams and retained the WCW tag titles. Steven Richards then entered the ring bad mouthing Taker only for him to turn around and have Kane’s glove wrapped round his neck and was then sent through the air and crashing to down to mat left in a heap after The Big Red Machines move.

WWF Hardcore Title Match
Rob Van Dam (c) vs Jericho
Ahhhh a Hardcore match I love these and it was set to be a cracker. RVD who once held a title for 23 months set to take on a should have been former WWF champion Jericho. The match started off quite boring for Hardcore match with punches and techni
cal moves being used. But then the fun began, Jericho went outside the ring and pulled from under the ring...a ladder! Jericho instantly used it to smash over RVD’s head. Both wrestlers and the ladder got into the ring with Jericho suplexing RVD onto the ladder, but RVD battled back and hit the same move on Jericho. After more technical moves Jericho went for the Lionsault only for RVD to move! Then Jericho locked in a great move, with RVD at the top of the ladder Jericho locked in the Tarantula with great affect! After both men regained themselves Jericho started hitting RVD with a chair, until Stephanie McMahon Helmsley came down to the ring, she distracted Jericho which enabled RVD to hit the Van Daminater then go to the top rope for the 5 star frog splash and retain his hardcore title.

Handicap match for the WCW Championship
The Rock (c) vs Booker T & Shane McMahon
It looked as if The Rock had no chance fighting two men to retain his title. Every time The Rock gained the upper hand on the match either Shane or Booker came in and gave the two men the initiative. The match was very one sided with Booker going for the Spinerooni but was lucky to escape the most electrifying move!! Shane bought the WCW title belt into the ring and went to hit The Rock until to miss and Booker right in the face, but Shane regained himself and did eventually hit The Rock with it. It seemed as if the end was near for The Rock then from nowhere he hit Shane with a Rock Bottom and Booker with a spinebuster. When The Rock had gained the upper hand down came Test and hit The Rock with a big boot to the face, but Bradshaw was quick to chase Test away!! The WWF now furious with what head WCW official Nick Patrick was allowing down came Mike Chioda who eventually himself and Nick Patrick ended up scrapping outside the ring! Rock and Booker were both left in the ring when Booker turned round to get hit by a Rock Bottom, down came Earl Hebner to make the count and The Roc
k retained his title.

US Title match
Tajiri w/Torrie Wilson (c) vs Rhyno
This never looked like a fair matching and it wasn’t. Within seconds of the bell being rung Rhyno went straight for the injured ribs of Tajiri. The Japanese Buzzsaw kept battling back and nearly even got a surprise win when he rolled up Rhyno for a two count. Torrie went to check on an injured Tajiri but Rhyno chased around and into the ring only for Torrie to twist her ankle. It looked as if Rhyno was about to Gore Torrie but Tajiri hit Rhyno with a super kick. Rhyno soon recovered and hit Tajiri with a Gore for the ref to count to three and name Rhyno as the new US champion, which was no surprise to anyone.

WWF championship match
Stone Cold Steve Austin (c) vs Kurt Angle
Angle never did seem favourite as he wasn’t even medically cleared to compete in this match as he was still suffering from the broken neck which he sustained after a pile driver from Austin. But the WWF title means too much for Angle to give up that easily and you knew he would put up a good fight. The match hadn’t even started but Angle was outside laying into Austin, once into the ring Austin went straight for the injured neck knowing how prone it feels after having a few broken necks himself in the past!! When Angle gained the upper hand Austin picked up his belt and tried to leave. Angle chased Austin up the ramp and threw Austin off the stage down onto the concrete floor. They battle on for another 15 minutes and at times both wrestlers seemed to gain the upper hand. Austin nearly had the match won, but Angle hit him with a piledriver after Austin got up Angle hit him with a Stunner! Austin kicked out of his own move and then nailed Angle with an olympic slam!! Austin waited for Angle to get up and went for the stunner only for Angle to reverse it into the Ankle Lock, Austin tapped out and Angle was the new WWF champion. Angle’s family rushed to the ring to cong
ratulate him and then The Rock lead the WWF roster down to the ring to say congratulations on bringing the title back to the WWF.

After staying up till 4am to watch this it was definitely worth it, as this obviously not one of the greatest PPV’s ever that I can’t say, but this has been one of the best this year with ease.

I hope this opinion helped some of you who missed it and for the ones who read this before watching the repeat...sorry!!

Thanks for reading,

Seymour
