Main event~ Is it that hard to get to the top

The Wwf championship (now the unified championship) was the belt that determined if you was good enough and if you could carry the company, but do shorter and shorter reigns devalue the belt? Would modern day fans be able to keep interested in yearlong title reigns?
In the 70’s/80’s wwwf and Wwf main event superstars held the Wwf title belt for years and fans didn’t question it. So take this scenario, Rock holds the title belt for the next 3 years, would you be interested? No me either.
Is it the length of the reigns, or the people who hold them? I think it’s the latter. A lot of talent could be elevated. People such as Edge and R.V.D. If they were given the final push to the top of the ladder they would be worthy title holders.. Only problem with R.V.D is he would probably have to tone down his style, as if there were to many injuries in the upper tier stars it may prove to be bad for R.V.D. I think Edge is the total package for main event. His wrestling skill is very good, and has a variety of moves, more than most hour long match involving the Rock. His verbal skills are very good, and he looks good to. The fans love him, so he should be up there with the other main event superstars. Kane could be put back into the title picture again, all he needs is a good storyline, Kane has been the champion once for less than 24 hours, but he could be a worthy title holder if they stopped putting him in pointless matches to job in meaning less matches. Big show could be a worthy titleholder, but he needs a lot of work. Maybe with a better storyline, stops jobbing to people in very stupid matches, and stops the hulk Hogan impressions, he could be a worthy title holders. I hope over the next few months new talent will be elevated i.e. Edge and R.V.D and past title holders i.e. Big Show and Kane be pushed to hold the titles, and have worthy and meaningful reigns. Until next time, I’ve
been Nicole!

What about Shawn Michaels? He was a lighter star but he got to run with the belt.
A lot of this is backstage politics, that isn't always known by the masses. Show isn't being pushed like before because he isn't committed to the buisness. Read some of the articles at WWF.com and that's why he isn't championship material. Why do you think guys like the Rock, HHH and Austin are where they are. Eating, living and crapping wrestling 24/7.
Austin has got so much stroke he said no to McMahon over an proposed angle. HHH was meant to return earlier than Rumble but he persuaded them to leave his return till a later date.
