Advantages: Much Better With Harry Hill
Disadvantages: Boring after a while
"Next time the star of the show could be you!"
'You've been Framed' is a British video clips shows, where viewers are encouraged to send in their comedic home videos in exchange for £250.
You know the sort of thing, humourous trips and falls, animals being generally stupid, and people fainting at weddings - anything mildly entertaining is shown.
The show has been running since 1990, when it had Jeremy Beadle at the helm. Beadle became famed (apart from his small hand) for his cringeworthy humour, which meant I would often change channels whilst he was attempting to be funny. He was replaced in 1998 by the equally terrible (worse in fact) Lisa Riley who I couldn't stand, and as she drove me mad, I couldn't really stomach watching You've Been Framed in the four years where she was presenter.
After a short and again poor stint of presenting by Jonathan Wilkes, Harry Hill now does the voice over for the show, and it's generally as entertaining as it ever has been.
Unfortunately for You've Been Framed, it can't really compete with other media sources like Youtube, which basically can show the same style of clips on demand, and in many circumstances (as it's very poorly censored) with more risqué subject matter. That is why the show is perhaps a dying breed - which is a shame, as it's a British institution!
All in all, You've Been Framed is an entertaining show, which represents a quick blast of weekend entertainment. The funniest bits are always in the animals section, where dogs chase their tails, and cats fall into fishtanks - I could watch that sort of thing for hours!
If you've got a humourous clip, details of where to send it can be found at: www.itv.com/Entertainment/comedy/YouveBeenFramed/
